From Intern to Staff Accountant: Meet Melissa Saenz

Melissa Saenz joined KRS in January as an intern, and her role has already grown into a full-time position as a staff accountant.

In her current role, Melissa works primarily on simple tax returns and also helps with accounting work for business clients. She appreciates that the work gives her opportunities to stretch her skills and keep learning.

“What I like most about the firm is that I get challenged with the things I do, and it helps me grow and learn more,” Melissa said. “I also love how helpful everyone is.”

Melissa earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Ramapo College of New Jersey and is now pursuing her Master’s Degree in Accounting there as well.

Outside of work and school, Melissa enjoys traveling and going to concerts. She likes experiencing new places, learning about different cultures and making memories along the way.

Her favorite travel experience was a trip to Italy with her parents. Visiting Italy had always been a dream of hers, and she especially enjoyed being able to explore it together as a family.

Concerts are another favorite because each one feels like a unique experience.

Melissa also has a talent that may surprise some of her coworkers. She started baton twirling when she was about six years old and continued until recently.

We’re glad to have Melissa growing her career at KRS and look forward to seeing where her next chapter takes her.
