Senior Accountant

The ideal candidate will have an accounting degree with 3+ years of CPA firm experience.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of partnership, corporate, fiduciary, and individual tax returns
  • Assist with client Audit, Review and Compilation engagements
  • Supervise and review bookkeeping staff and engagements
  • Assist clients with general accounting and tax projects/inquiries
  • Assist in training staff level accountants

Preferred Qualifications/Requirements:

  • A./B.S. degree in Accounting
  • MBA/Masters in Tax/Accounting a plus
  • CPA License (or pursuing)
  • 3+ years of CPA firm experience
  • Strong computer skills; proficient in ProSystem fx Tax, QuickBooks, Sage & CCH Engagement (a plus)

Staff Accountant

  • Variety of accounting and tax assignments
  • Prepare partnership, corporate, fiduciary and individual income tax returns
  • Record transactions in ledgers
  • Prepare trial balances and financial statements
  • Perform various reconciliations
  • Calculate depreciation expense and prepare accruals
  • Post payroll transactions
  • Assist with audit fieldwork

Preferred Qualifications/Requirements:

  • A./B.S. degree in Accounting with 150 credit hours
  • Previous CPA firm experience a plus
  • CPA License (or pursuing)

  • Manage the preparation and review of tax projects by coordinating staffing and workflow
  • Prepare and review high-level tax returns and quarterly/yearly tax projections
  • Manage tax compliance and tax planning process
  • Manage client budgets and production goals
  • Build new and existing client relationships and demonstrate knowledge of client business
  • Improve processes by developing or implementing best practices
  • Maintain effective control procedures over all aspects of the tax process

Th3 Tax Preparer position can be hybrid or remote. Full-time or part-time.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review (individual, trust and estate) federal, state, and local tax returns
  • Tax accounting & tax projections
  • Calculate tax payments and estimates
  • Has knowledge of tax law, legal codes, precedents, government regulations and IRS rules
  • Research complex tax issues and communicate findings effectively
  • Resolve client inquiries
  • Communication with clients/government agencies/staff members

Preferred Qualifications/Requirements:

  • 3+ years of tax preparation experience specifically with individual (1040, multi-state) and trusts / estates (1041) tax returns
  • A./B.S. degree in Accounting

Responsibilities

  • Answer and direct phone calls in a professional manner, screening when necessary.
  • Greet and assist company visitors.
  • Provide high-quality customer service by answering routine inquiries.
  • Document management & maintenance.
  • Maintains office forms and procedures, assists with administrative tasks.
  • Maintains office equipment.
  • Sort, distribute, and prepares incoming / outgoing mail, coordinates the pick-up and delivery of express mail services.
  • Composes, types and edits correspondence, reports, memoranda, and other material.
  • Handles clerical duties such as photocopying, faxing, filing, and collating.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is an in-person full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some Saturdays are required during tax season.

Bookkeeper

Responsibilities:

  • Accounts payable – enter invoices, post transactions, process payments, and resolve vendor discrepancies
  • Accounts receivable – prepare client invoicing, maintain cash receipts, and collections
  • Account reconciliations – bank, credit card, payroll, and sales tax
  • Process and post payroll
  • Cash flow management
  • Maintain general ledger, prepare journal entries
  • Communicate (written and verbally) with clients, suppliers, vendors, and other contacts
  • Manage client documents
  • Assist with period end closing, prepare financial reports
  • Sales/Use and other tax compliance

Preferred Qualifications / Requirements:
